This Oat flour alternative Chocolate & Banana loaf tastes just as yummy and chocolatey as the white flour version.
My health and wellness goal this year is to live a more health-conscious life whilst still enjoying my favourite flavourful and aromatic meals. This led to my interest in baking with healthy alternatives to the traditional white flour so that I can still enjoy my favourite desserts. So far, I have been trying out different recipes with Coconut flour and Oat flour and getting amazing results. Stay tuned for the Coconut flour recipes!
My Oat flour baking escapade was an experiment that continues to yield delicious recipes. In addition to banana loaves, I have also made cookies (still in the development stage) using Oat flour. For more information on how I decided to bake with Oat flour, check out my first Oat flour recipe here.
Chocolate & Banana loaf is a perfect blend of the sweetness of bananas and the bitterness of chocolate. It is a great choice for people that would love some Banana loaf with reduced sweetness.
For this Oat flour version, I simply made some adjustments to my original banana with Oat flour recipe to allow for the addition of the cocoa flour along with the chocolate chips and chunks. This recipe has been taste tested by friends and family and they all loved it. I guarantee you will love it too.

Notes
- I used almonds in this recipe but feel free to use any nuts of choice. I have also used walnuts in the past.
- The sugar is increased to account for the bitterness of the cocoa powder. If you prefer it less sweet, then by all means reduce the sugar.
- The Chocolate & Banana Loaf can be stored in the fridge for up to a week.
